A Sunday Prediction About Trump’s Monday Trial

Very briefly, what he may try

Happy Sunday, all.

Tomorrow is scheduled to be the beginning of jury selection in the Manhattan “hush money” trial in Manhattan — and I had some thoughts about whether that will actually take place.

As likely everyone knows, Team Trump has faceplanted multiple times over the last couple weeks, in ever-more-desperate motions to avoid or at least delay the trial.

Justice Juan Merchan simply will not play; and as it happens, neither will the appellate court.

Trump is out of time.

He’s exhausted his legal remedies (the likelihood of the appellate court saving him after jury selection starts is slim to none).

What does he have left?

Well, not to put too fine a point on it … extrajudicial remedies are really all he has left.

What could that mean?

Well, recall the sorts of things that happened when, in December 2020, Team Trump had exhausted all its legal remedies (60+ lawsuits tanked, etc.) in the plan to keep him in office despite the outcome of the election.

What kind of stuff happened?
