Enabled, Emboldened, Entitled

Especially for former presidents under indictment and a protective order, this is dangerous and destructive

This will be short.

Purposeful testing of boundaries, guardrails, and the resolve or mettle of authorities. That’s what Donald Trump is all about.

Sadly, many of his supporters take their cues from him, so it’s a metastasis in action kind of thing.

Trump hasn’t been slapped down well enough so far; not enough consequences — thus enabled.

In his own Machiavellian brain, being so enabled, he feels emboldened.

He’s Donald Trump, and being enabled and emboldened for so long — since the 70s, in fact — he now feels entitled.

America has created a monster, and perhaps we deserve it?

Perhaps.

Here are some recent headlines that illustrate:

And this:

Finally, this:

Trump is seeking to obstruct the cases, intimidate and influence witnesses, and taint the jury pools — despite being warned in open court and by a protective order.

So far, he’s gotten away with it, or at least he thinks so.

It cannot continue, so somebody will have to finally call him on the bad conduct.

Judges and prosecutors — y’all are paying attention, right?

As one can tell from some of my prior articles, I’m no fan of Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). Although it’s difficult to explain precisely what happened to Lindsey, he did indeed have a moment of clarity and wisdom back in the day.

I’m talking about back in 2016 when the notion of Donald Trump becoming the Republican nominee was still in the future.

Remember Lindsay Graham opining back then?

Or even further back, in December 2015, when he gave this quote, and others gathered by Gabe Ortiz of America’s Voice:

‘You know how you make America great again? Tell Donald Trump to go to hell. He’s a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot. He doesn’t represent my party. He doesn’t represent the values that the men and women who wear the uniform are fighting for. … He’s the ISIL man of the year.’

What happens when you create monsters and place them in power, or take their monsterhood to a new level by placing them in power?

Terrible destruction to our country and our democracy.

Odd, eh? Creation as the very vehicle of destruction.

Please take care of yourselves and others and stay healthy and strong.
