It really does seem like some folks and states are actually trying to allow people to get sick. Perhaps they believe that if they live, great - and if they die, they were weak? Survival of the politically least fit? I believe that deaths have actually become a political calculus for the GOP - and have written a couple articles about that. I call it attrition politics. As time goes by, it looks like I was right - which saddens me no end.
