Two Years on From January 2021
Notes from January 2023
Most of my work life appears in notes taken in a series of composition books.
I use two primary colors to make things stand out for later review— blue (or black) for “work”; and green almost exclusively for writing … ideas, research, notes from articles read, etc.
And as I write almost exclusively about politics and political subjects, almost all of my green ink is about those things.
This week I had occasion to go through my current volume of notes, and I was struck by the quantity of green ink in entries from 2023, the threads of which almost looked like a story at times.
So, I thought I’d share part of my green ink diary and its patterns, for the month of January, the month marking the two-year anniversary of the Jan 6th insurrection.
Pretty much as my notes read, with [brackets] for current explanations, comments:
1/13/23
- Trump’s last week in office vs. what Biden was doing at the time.
- The lessons from the fake elector scandal. PA had it right? Made clear in the document it was contingent on Trump lawsuits prevailing?
- Expunging Trump’s impeachments? The Hill article re: McCarthy statement.
