I’ll admit that when I saw this term in an article back in February in Politico, I was a little confused. I’d heard the slang term before, but in a context rather different than in that article.
I finally got around to following up, though, and thought I’d do a quick internet search to begin with to lead this article.
This happens to be the context I already knew about, having had a Scots friend years ago who liked to use it:
