What Happened the Last Time the MAGA-GOP Had ‘Lots of Theories but No Evidence’?

Hint: it wasn’t good

Yes, the last time the MAGA (bowel?) movement had plenty of theories, but no evidence, things didn’t turn out too well for them or for America.

Perhaps you remember, and I don’t have to talk much about it?

Well, just quickly: Trump lost the 2020 election (dragging down some other people with him), lost 60+ lawsuits (that whole lack of evidence thing, together with pleadings and arguments a’ la Homey D Clown), then tried some seven different schemes to retain power anyway — and failed.

And then there was the little thing called January 6th, the seventh of the schemes, and his second (another historical first — he must be so proud) impeachment.

And there’s the word — impeachment of the day.

Just in case you don’t recall, Trump was impeached (did I mention it was the second one?) for inciting the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. Harken, now: although tried in the senate after he was no longer president, the impeachment was based on conduct he engaged in while he was (sigh) actually President of the United States.

Impeachment. High crimes and misdemeanors while in office.

While in office.
