Words From on High — Yes, They Still Matter
Back on November 1st 2020 I published an article on Medium (not in any publication) all about how words from Kings or Wannabe Kings really matter, and it was not gentle vis a vis Donald Trump, America’s very own Wannabe royalty. In light of some more words from that self-ordained monarch on January 6, 2021, and the effect thereof, I felt compelled to review my earlier work; and came away with a thought, a question, and a conclusion. I ask that — if it’s not too much trouble — you read this to the very end. It’s quite short.
A Thought
I thought I might have been a little rough, a little over-the-top, a little too purple-prosy, in my prior article. After all, there are things Mr. Trump did as President which appealed quite a lot to a significant proportion of America — or else he would not have received some 74 million votes in the election, right? I totally ignored that possibility and by doing so may have been unfair to some extent. I am delighted to have another chance to be more fair.
So, I started compiling a list of things he and his Administration had done and accomplished which could be viewed, if I was to be fair and honest, as positive — helpful, patriotic, fair, non-discriminatory, and things like that.
